Earth Colour seeks to recreate the colours of nature to create beautiful fabrics for the home.

Founded by Costume Art Finisher and Seamstress Alicia Aulsebrook, Earth Colour is a culmination of several years of research and experimentation. All our products are made and dyed in Melbourne using 100% natural matter and fixers. We use a combination of bark, flowers, discarded wood shavings from local furniture makers, extracts and mud dyes.

The disposed dye is harmless to the environment and the extracted matter is later composted.

All our products are made from a hemp/ organic cotton blend fibre. Hemp can grow in almost any environment. It is grown chemical free, enriches its soil, saves water and produces 2 – 4 times more fibre per area than other sources, making it one of the most eco-friendly crops to grow.

Hemp is naturally resistant to mildew, bacteria, and insects. It is long lasting, durable, absorbent and will soften over time. The fabric is fully GOTS certified. Our fabric is semi-bleached using oxygen instead of harsh chlorine to produce a natural base colour before it is dyed by natural matter.

We are always looking to create new and beautiful colours to add to our collection. We also create one off pieces using different dyeing techniques to produce unique and timeless home textiles.
